Volunteer at Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival

The Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival would be nothing without the amazing support of our volunteers. Thanks to you, our Festival continues to put on one of Western Pennsylvania’s largest celebrations of visual arts, crafts, educational activities, and performing artists year after year. We are always searching for help and volunteers of all ages are needed. Our Festival is the perfect opportunity for schools, churches, and professional groups as well as families and friends to contribute their talents.

Below are just some of the ways you can make a difference by volunteering for the Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival. Disclaimer: Volunteers up to age 15 must be accompanied by an adult. The minimum age for volunteers who handle money is 18. Volunteers must dress appropriately at the Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival. Clothing must not have offensive language/images. Bathing suits or visible undergarments are not permitted.

Ticket Sellers

Sell tickets in the soda trailer, lemonade booths, and bus ticket booths at the Festival. Min. commitment is 3 hours.

Information Booth Staff

Answer questions and distribute the Festival map, performance schedule, and visitor survey. Sell t-shirts and other Festival merchandise. Min. commitment is 3 hours.

Stage Auditors

Attend Festival performances, lectures, and other programs. Take notes on the quality and attendance at each show. Min. commitment is 2 hours.

Office Help

Assist with mailings, laminate signs, make copies, and help with other general office duties. Commitment time varies and is on an as-needed basis.

Festival Ambassadors

Ambassadors walk throughout the Festival and answer questions, distribute maps, and conduct visitor surveys. A Festival t-shirt and badge are provided. Min. commitment is 3 hours.

Gallery Docents

Familiar with the art displayed at the Westmoreland Art Nationals exhibits through information supplied by the Festival. Volunteers would answer questions and promote the sale of available artwork with a form provided. All actual sales would be conducted through the Festival office. Min. commitment is 3 hours.

Photographers

Take pictures of Festival programming, booths, and visitors enjoying the Festival. A photographer badge is provided. Time commitment varies.

Heritage Panels

Panels are 8-foot by 4-foot plywood signs that our Festival provides to non-profit organizations to be displayed along the Heritage Trail during the Festival. Volunteers are needed to paint the panels each year and help the organization post material to their panel.

 

Become a Member of WAHF

Becoming a member of the Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival is easy and affordable with several different membership level options. As a member, you’ll enjoy unique benefits such as free merchandise, invitations to exclusive events, on-site Festival parking opportunities, and discounts on Westmoreland Art Nationals purchases. Memberships start on October 1 annually. Only one individual per membership, please. Sorry, but we do not offer memberships to businesses or organizations, only individuals. Please call the Festival office at 724-834-7474 to make arrangements for the pick-up of your membership benefits. Notify WAHF of membership for WAN discount prior to purchase. No refunds will be given after purchase. It is the responsibility of the member to contact WAHF regarding their benefits. Arrangements must be made prior to the events in order to receive benefits.

 Membership benefits may change or end without notice. Membership benefits are not retroactive. Membership benefits must be claimed at least one (1) month prior to the start of the event, if claimed later, said benefits may not be available.
